1. Describe situations when doctrinal concepts have helped you clarify the decisions you make as a teacher.


  • trusting that the Lord is caring tenderly for these children
  • After 911, some children knew nothing - others came in the next morning having watched it all on TV with their families - how to address their questions? the Lord doesn't allow anything evil to happen that some good can't come from - let's see what good comes - the children saw lots in the following days (firemen helping, people donating blood, lots of people showing love for their country by putting out flags, many volunteers to help)
  • talking about conjugial love ideals in the face of "broken homes"
  • idea of "order" and classroom management


2. How might the school system support you in becoming even more successful at doing this?


  • Office of Ed could check in with small schools
  • to work on curriculum with a broad group to allow for discussion etc. and so we can have curriculum that is fully articulated from the purpose/overarching ideas all the way through methodology of daily work
